Dudley is a happy and easy going 2 year old Neufoundland, who loves coming to see Dr. Toles of Animal Health Services, St. Catharines. Dudley had to see the veterinarian recently because of a skin condition. Skin conditions are much more common in the summer. Dog owners should be especially vigilant this time of year in watching for canine skin problems. Even something as seemingly insignificant as an insect/flea bite can start enough scratching to lead to self inflicted trauma. Pollen, hot and humid weather, mould and frequent dips in the pond or pool can all lead to summertime skin conditions in dogs. Please feel free to call our animal hospital with any concerns regarding your pet’s skin.
